ASK: Create an internal training video for all UPMC staff focusing on care. TARGET AUDIENCE: All internal employees.
STRATEGY: We spoke with UPMC staff members asking them one question – why did you become a health care provider. In almost every instance they said, because they wanted to help people. The more they talked, the more we heard about “time”. So we dug deeper and saw that the average caregiver spends about 7 seconds with a patient. Thus the 20 Second Difference was born.
CONCEPT STATEMENT UPMC is known for it’s world-class care. Care doesn’t just meanhaving the best doctors and innovative medical facilitates – it alsomeans CARE. By adding just 20 seconds, you can make a world ofdifference and THAT is truly what UPMC is about.
